Korec Corso – Internationally protected kennel

Korec Corso kennel was founded by Evžen Korec, MSc., Ph.D., and his wife Jana Korcova. Our goal is to breed top dogs in terms of appearance, behaviour and mainly health. The long-term goal is to prolong the average age of the Cane Corso breed.
Evžen Korec, MSc., Ph.D., is a qualified geneticist and researcher in the field of molecular genetics. He is a co-author of 11 patents. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the American Veterinary Journal Approaches in Poultry, Dairy & Veterinary Sciences. Currently, he is a director of ZOO Tábor.
Korec Corso is the only breeding station of Cane Corso in the world which conducts research into the genetics and longevity of this breed. The research results are published in top world magazines. In cooperation with 72 breeding stations from 25 countries, we were the first to determine the median age at death of Cane Corso.
We are currently analysing DNA of long-lived dogs who have lived for 12 years or more to discover genes related to longevity. Details can be found HERE. The long-term goal of this research is to prolong the average age of Cane Corso. For the first time ever, we have described the genes associated with longevity, the inheritance of Cane Corso's hip dysplasia and the inheritance of coat colour in the Cane Corso Italiano dog.
Our goal is to breed top dogs in terms of health and behaviour as well as in terms of appearance. All crosses are very carefully planned and we analyse the transfer of individual characteristics between generations. We only cross such top dogs that pass the characteristics to the offspring.
When selecting suitable crosses, we only work with the best world breeders (kennels). We perform insemination by frozen semen in crosses with dogs from far-off kennels. In cooperation with leading experts MVDr. Roman Vitásek, Ph.D. (Veterinary and Pharmaceutical University in Brno) and MVDr. Petra Přinosilová, Ph.D. (frozendogs.com), we were the first in the Czech Republic who successfully inseminated with frozen semen in the Cane Corso breed.
Our offsprings are of great interest both in the Czech Republic and in Europe. The new owners are very carefully selected and our puppies are given only to those who will provide them with excellent conditions of breeding, nutrition and veterinary care. We prefer those who are interested in exhibiting at Czech and foreign dog shows and who are interested in breeding. Our breeding station owns the most successful Czech bitch of the Cane Corso breed in the years 2015 - 2018 Koleta Atison, the International Champion of Beauty (CIB), the Champion of 3 countries (Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland), the Champion of ČMKU, the Czech and Slovak Grand Champion.
